Trained Bernedoodle For Sale
Percy is a trained bernedoodle that joined us at a young age when his previous family could no longer care for him. He has been raised by a professional trainer since 4 months old, and is a confident, social, and outgoing character. Percy is a medium energy level, with an excellent off switch in the house, and he is laying quietly at my feet as I type this. He loves people, dogs, and cats, and is ready to join his forever family.
Percy is a stunning blue merle with tan points, and is 75% Bernese Mountain Dog and 25% poodle. This means that he hardly sheds at all, but that his coat is much easier to maintain than a typical poodle or doodle coat as it does not tightly curl. A once a week brushing is enough to keep Percy’s coat in great shape. Percy is excellent for grooming, and will stand happily for bathing, brushing, blow drying, nail trims, teeth cleaning, and ear cleaning.
Percy is very well traveled, and has been all over the Eastern US joining me at dog shows and events. He is very confident and self assured, and nothing bothers him environmentally. He is unbothered traveling to loud truck stops, riding on hotel elevators, or visiting busy dog shows full of loud barking dogs. Percy is an excellent choice for a busy family who wants an unflappable and agreeable dog to join them on life’s adventures.
Percy has fluent on and off leash obedience and frequently blows people away in public with his responsiveness and self control around distractions. Percy can perform: heel, sit, down, stay, place, wait, place, kennel, load (get into car) both on and off leash, and has some extra buttons that we find really important in a well trained companion dog. These things include a distance down, sometimes referred to as an emergency down, where you can down him at a great distance off leash if needed. He also knows to tuck under chairs and benches, which is great for eating on outdoor patios. All of these obedience behaviors are under a high degree of stimulus control to account for all kinds of life situations. For example, if he is on a place command and a child walks by with a plate of food, he knows not to take the cheap shot and steal the food. If he is off leash in a field and someone shows up with an out of control dog, you can be fully assured that Percy knows his recall command and won’t succumb to the temptation of choosing that dog over you.
Percy is up to date on vaccinations and preventative care, and will be neutered before leaving to his new home.
Percy is available to go home in February/March 2026.
